The Onslaught of Specialized Video Continues

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

Now that video sharing is everywhere, the real differentiator features are coming to the fore in a big way…

There’s video opt-ins, video with product links, high definition video… and much more.

One interesting trend is interactive video. They tried to push it in both movies and TV in previous decades, but on the Internet it actually makes sense. After all, Internet IS an interactive medium at heart.

Here’s one very interesting example, courtesy of Immersive Media: 360 degree views, you choose the perspective.

You’ve seen it before in static product showcase photos etc., but now it’s coming to video.

Take a look (use your mouse to move the focus during play)

(I had to remove the embed because it completely messed up the blog for firefox – so here’s a link to a whole bunch of demo videos instead)

Pretty cool though, huh?

    Very impressive!

No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t get that

Hah! But did you try turning it onto itself? That might work for some spectacular effects…

Yeah it’s really showing a lot of promise for certain types of businesses that need to really show what an experience is all about.

Oh heck, it’s pretty great just for showing off! 😉

Really cool tech… wonder what kind of equipment you’d need to do that.

I like the term ‘Spherical Storytelling’. Has a nice ring to it.
