Howdy partner.

It’s a good day today, and it’s an even better day for those in the habit of seizing said day.

Before I start sounding like Robin Williams in Dead Poet’s Society… let me explain where my mood comes from.

I stumbled on something seemingly innocent and simple the inimitable Ed Dale said on Twitter – ok actually on FriendFeed but there you go:

Ed Dale on the importance of content

While this was obviously just some off-the-cuff comment, triggered by who knows what… it really struck me in a big way.

Not that it’s news or anything that you need to create great content to become and stay an authority in any niche online.

But… it shook me out of this certain type of complacency I’d been falling into.

I’d been doing so much high-level consulting (direct response copywriting and marketing strategy, among other things) – enjoying it so much – that I had frankly neglected creating much in the way of new content for my followers.

I’m sorry about that.

That will change in a big way soon, and I bet you’ll want to be there when it happens!

OKAY LET’S SEE SOME CONTENT THEN!

Not so fast – we’ll get there very, very soon.

One of the topics I’ve really wanted to create some world-class public content on for a long time is... Mobile Marketing.

And believe you me, I’m no newbie when it comes to mobile marketing. I’ve been involved in mobile messaging, marketing and technology for over ten years now.

And how could it be otherwise – after all I live in the world of Nokia, Finland – where you’re basically a weirdo if you do NOT do something in the mobile space. 😉

But first…

ABOUT THOSE THREE C’S OF ONLINE SUCCESS…

Okay. So Ed’s tweet made me think in very simplistic terms (and we all know the power lies in the subtle, right? think atomic bomb.)

Let’s take a closer look at the components of online success, regardless of what it is that you do online.

We’ll begin with the first and what should be the obvious one:

1. CONTENT

Its ON !!! https://www.agtrucolor.com

Alright grasshopper.

You’ve no doubt heard that ‘Content Is King’.

And Queen, Prince and Princess too. That’s basically the one thing everybody and their sister seems to agree on.

But what does that actually mean?

It means if you don’t have content that is compelling, relevant, revealing, uplifting, practical… all those things… the two other C’s won’t matter.

If you have an email list of a million people but no good content to give them, you’ll be viewed as a spammer (even if you’re not).

And then the third C won’t matter either; you can’t convert someone to sales or any other action if they don’t view you as an authority in the subject.

So put your all into delivering the best content you possibly can. Consistently.

Holding back will not help here – give until you bleed!

Because if you’re really an expert in the subject, you will have no problem creating more and better content anyway, after you’ve given away your current best.

So go for it, regularly and repeatedly!

2. CONTACT

Okay then, Contact to your prospective customers is what most people really focus on online.

Whether it’s in the form of web site traffic, getting new users for a web service, getting more followers in social media… Contact is on everyone’s mind.

And there’s nothing wrong with that – nobody can survive online without sufficient and relevant traffic.

However… again, without the other two C’s it’s really nothing.

If you have a sustainable way to contact people (email lists, social media, video.. whatever works for you), it won’t matter if you don’t use it to build a true relationship with them.

And how do you create that relationship?

  • First by sending them the kind of content they were looking for in the first place.
  • Then you do it repeatedly, in a way consistent with their core expectations (take a page from the inimitable Gary Vaynerchuk)
  • Secondarily, you create that relationship by being authentic.. and ultimately, persuasive.

And that’s where the third C comes in…

3. CONVERSION

So if you’re creating and delivering great content in your market….

And you have a way of contacting your prospects…

Everything’s swell and business just happens, right?

Some people may think so, but… no, not exactly.

Because even with the Right Content and Constant Contact…

You STILL need to find the right angle… the right words… the right concepts… the right sequence… to BREAK THROUGH to them!

If you want people to Take Action, and not just be entertained… you need to know how to take their hand and lead it to that order button.

Or the Subscribe button. Or the Signup button… whatever the goal of your online presence ultimately is.

Otherwise you’ve just ended up with a very time-consuming hobby, and not a business. Let alone a sustainable, dependable income stream.

So make sure you know how to ultimately convert your people ‘into your fold‘ so you both will end up happy.

Ok let’s wrap this up…

SO WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?

Well, for one thing, what this means to you The Game just got a LOT easier!

It means as long as you take care of these three… the rest really and truly does NOT matter.

At all.

Because as long as you keep hitting the sweet spot on these Three C’s of Online Success, you have nothing to worry about.

The difficult thing is simply to… keep doing it!

And even that can be automated, buffered, made a lot easier than how it may seem in the beginning.

So keep your eye on the prize, and keep taking care of the Three C’s!

PS. Oh yes, that bit about mobile marketing and all-new content… It’s coming right up, so don’t go anywhere! 😉

Love the simplicity of the 3 C’s Juho!

They all fit together so perfectly!

I really do believe that it’s as simple as you have outlined in your post. That’s pretty much what I’ve been doing and the dividends are paying off for sure.

Simple does not necessarily mean easy though 🙂

One still has to put in some fun effort 🙂

    Thanks for the great post!

You’re absolutely right there buddy… it’s not necessarily easy – one still needs to execute if not flawlessly at least consistently.

And yeah, I’ve noticed you’ve been pretty much focusing on a setup like this. So more power to you! 🙂

I strongly believe in the first C: content is king and SEO is the queen. 🙂 While quality is for human, SEO is for the engines.
    The other C’s?
Still need some (a lot!) practice. Thanks for reminding.
